
Matteo Bogazzi
Matteo Bogazzi graduated in Piano with highest honours from the Conservatorio “G. Puccini” in La Spezia, where he also earned a second-level degree in Music Pedagogy and undertook composition studies.
Since 2015, he has specialised in historically informed performance on the fortepiano. He continued his advanced training at the Accademia Internazionale “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola (Diploma, 2018), and in 2023 completed a Master’s degree in Historical Piano at the Conservatorio “F. Morlacchi” in Perugia, studying with Costantino Mastroprimiano, with whom he is currently pursuing the second level diploma.
He has participated in masterclasses and workshops with Alexander Lonquich, Pietro De Maria, Malcolm Bilson, Arthur Schoonderwoerd, and Jörg Demus.
Active as a soloist, chamber musician, and collaborative pianist on both modern and historical keyboards, his repertoire ranges from the eighteenth century to contemporary music. He has appeared at festivals and cultural institutions in Italy and abroad, including the Utrecht Early Music Festival, William Walton Foundation in Ischia, Divertimento Ensemble in Milan, Accademia di Musica di Pinerolo, Gallerie d’Italia and Fondazione Monte di Pietà in Vicenza, Lyceum Club, and Franco Zeffirelli Foundation in Florence.
His discography includes recordings for Da Vinci Classics, featuring music by Dmitri Shostakovich with violist Giulia Panchieri, and for Indésens Calliope, with works by Jan Křtitel Vaňhal performed on period instruments in duo with violinist Marco Pedrona.
Since 2017, he has taught piano and chamber music at the Liceo Musicale “Alberti-Dante” in Florence and, since 2022, has worked as a collaborative pianist at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole. Alongside his musical activity, he pursues a parallel poetic research, which has taken shape in the collection Tentare il presente (2025).
