For two weeks, Lucca transforms into an open-air musical campus, a globally unique ecosystem where notes spill out from classroom windows to fill cloisters, gardens, squares, and historic palaces. Every space becomes a resonance chamber, intertwining monumental architecture with the energy of our musicians.

Real Collegio
At the center of it all is the Real Collegio, the true headquarters of the Festival. Within its ancient cloisters and frescoed halls, monastic history meets contemporary creative energy. Here, among walls that recount centuries of life in Lucca, students and maestros meet, study, and share an experience of community life that goes far beyond a simple lesson.
Valuable Collaborations:
Conservatorio Boccherini and Liceo Passaglia
Educational excellence finds a home in the institutions that make Lucca a capital of music. The historic collaboration with the “Luigi Boccherini” Higher Institute of Musical Studies opens the doors of a hallowed space to our virtuosos, where the great instrumental tradition of Lucca is preserved and passed down.
Similarly, the classrooms of the Passaglia Music High School come alive with new voices, creating a generational and educational bridge that unites the most promising international talents in a constant dialogue.
Baroque Enchantment:
Palazzo Pfanner
When music seeks absolute beauty, it moves to Palazzo Pfanner. Among the statues of its monumental Italian garden and the staircase that has enchanted international cinema, the Festival’s concerts take on an atmosphere suspended in time. It is here that the chamber music repertoire finds its ideal setting, in a perfect union of visual aesthetics and sonic perfection.

Streets and Squares
The heart of Virtuoso & Belcanto knows no physical boundaries. The music “overflows” and pours into the streets and squares. Strolling through Lucca during the Festival, the sound of a violin or a piano becomes the soundtrack of the city itself, surprising passersby and enthusiasts alike. From the most famous squares to the most hidden corners, every stone of Lucca participates in this great collective ritual, reminding the world that here, music is, quite literally, in the air.
