Opportunities

STEP 1

Scholarships

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and donors, several students will have the opportunity to receive either partial or full Merit Scholarships to assist with tuition expenses. The Festival Direction will consider various criteria in allocating these scholarships, including the applicants’ estimated cost of travel, academic merit, and family income.

Profitable students can also apply for a Merit&Collaboration Scholarship, which lowers the fee based on the nature and extent of their assistance to the Festival’s organization. Tasks may include translating, overseeing Festival venues, or assisting during concerts. When applying for the scholarship, students can select the kind of scholarship they want to apply for and express what kind of services they are willing to provide. These scholarships are quite limited and in allocating these resources we will still evaluate the estimated cost of travel, academic merit, and family income.

Applications must be submitted by April 30th, 2024 exclusively on this online form. The result will be communicated by May 25th.

Students who apply for a scholarship will still have to pay the first fee to confirm registration. If the Festival’s Direction decides to offer a full scholarship, the amount paid will be refunded.

Piano Accompaniment Scholarship

We are offering full-tuition scholarships to Piano students who have experience in accompaniment, and who would like to work alongside Professors and Students for 3 hours each day for the entire duration of the Festival. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop collaborative piano skills and expand your repertoire.

The selection will be held in two rounds:

Step 1 – Applications by April 30th, 2024: students who are interested in this scholarship, can apply by filling out this online form: https://form.jotform.com/233603601168349. It is required to attach reference letter(s) about previous piano accompaniment activities done by the student. The outcome of the selection will be communicated by May 7th, 2024.

Step 2 – Video audition: selected students will receive a short repertoire list to prepare, record and send back within 24 hours. The selection will end on May 25th, 2024.

Students registered and admitted to the advanced courses before May 15th can take part in the selection for the Piano Accompaniment Scholarship, but they still must pay the fees according to the Terms of Payment. If they are admitted to the scholarship, they will receive a refund of the fee already paid.

STEP 2

Master concerts

A small number of students will be selected to prepare pieces from the main chamber repertoire with some of the teachers present. The selection will be made by the Artistic Direction in agreement with the faculty, based on the videos sent for admission to the courses.

The results of these workshops will be included in the concert program of the Virtuoso&Belcanto 2024 Festival.

STEP 2

Contemporary Virtuoso & Belcanto

This innovative workshop, held by Maestro Adrian Brendel, is dedicated to the exploration of new contemporary repertoires.

The musicians will be selected based on the videos sent for admission. This program will be held during the 2024 Virtuoso & Belcanto Festival.

STEP 2

Instruments rental

Students who may need to rent string instruments can get in touch with Tommaso Pedani, luthier and bowmaker. He will be present at Real Collegio in Lucca for the entire duration of the festival.
